Season 4 - "Sanctuary... those who arrive, survive."

The very last scene in the Comic-Con trailer featured Daryl, Michonne, Bob and Tyreese all in a car driving somewhere.  All of a sudden, they hear a voice on the radio that says "Sanctuary... those who arrive, survive."

I actually have a picture of a rumored location we might see in season four and it's of Fort Benning.  Here it is:

I've seen this same picture on many spoiler websites for "The Walking Dead" as being a location where they're filming at.  Now I do remember back in season one, the group (Shane in particular) was strongly considering heading to Fort Benning for shelter.  But then they decided to head for the CDC instead.  I think they were originally on their way to Fort Benning in the season two premiere, but Sophia got lost, Carl got shot and the group just ended up staying at Hershel's farm.

We still don't know where the Governor has gone to, so maybe this is one possibility for somewhere that he has gone.  But I think it would make more sense for Rick's group to go here because Rick and Shane were talking about checking this place out and seeing what was left.

So is Fort Benning the sanctuary that we hear of in the trailer?  It could be, but I have absolutely no clue as to where this sanctuary may be.  It could be the Alexandria Safe-Zone, where Rick's group actually went after they left the farm for the last time.  They're still there even to this point in the comic books, so the television series will eventually get to Alexandria.  But I don't know if that's the sanctuary because Alexandria is all the way up by Washington D.C. and Rick's group is still fairly close to Atlanta. 

So I think Fort Benning has the best chance of being the sanctuary, but honestly, it sounds too good to be true.  This is supposed to be the time where we see Abraham, Eugene and Rosita, according to SpoilerTV.  So maybe they will be at this sanctuary.  Another possibility is a group like the Hunters (a group of cannibals from the comic book series) broadcasting this message out to people and getting them to go to a certain location.  From there, the Hunters would kill them, take their stuff and then eat them.

I really want to see the Hunters though, not that I want to see a person from Rick's group eaten by another group of survivors.  But if they're going to be leaving the prison and they reportedly are going to come across Abraham, Eugene and Rosita, I would have to think that we could see the Hunters very soon.  The have the potential to be very good antagonists in the television series.

Season 4 - Is Bob Stookey a traitor?

Based on the Comic-Con trailer for season four, there may be a possibility that a new character played by Lawrence Gilliard Jr., Bob Stookey, may be a traitor.

We know that he is a series regular, which means he's going to have a lot of parts in season four.  I think we'll see him a lot in season four, but I don't think he'll make it to season five or six.  I think he'll be a character like Merle, who was re-introduced in season three and died in the same season.

In the comic book series, there is a part where the Governor has one of his men infiltrate Rick's group at the prison.  He would then run back to the Governor and tell him about the location of the prison.  But since the television series has been changed around to not follow the exact same storyline, it would be the perfect time to insert this storyline next season.

With the prison group clueless about the Governor's whereabouts, it would make perfect sense for him to have someone infiltrate the group.  It can't be Martinez or Shumpert that does this because the prison group already knows who both of them are.  So it would make sense that the traitor would have to be Bob.

In the comic book series, Bob Stookey is a drunk in Woodbury who is a former army medic.  He was such a drunk that he became a detriment to Woodbury, until he was needed to patch up the Governor and he did.  In the television series, he will actually be a part of Rick's group as we saw in the trailer.  I think Bob Stookey will fill the role of Martinez from the comic book series in season four.

As a traitor, he would basically help the Governor attack the prison and relay information back to him because he does seem strange in some of his actions.  Toward the middle of the trailer, Bob says, "I'd like to start pulling my weight around here. Let me earn my keep."  The way he says this is so overly jolly and too nice for a zombie apocalypse.

A couple of seconds later, we also see Bob's hand shaking and it looks like it has blood on it.  Obviously, something happened for the blood to get on his hand.  Maybe he killed someone and he realizes what he did shortly after or something like that.  He could just be killing zombies and he notices blood on his hand.

That's all I can really say about the character for now.  We know that someone attacked the cell block, twelve people died and two were killed in cold blood, which means that the group knows that someone from inside the prison murdered two other people.  Maybe Bob has something to do with that, which could explain the blood his hand.  Maybe he's the one feeding all of those zombies outside of the prison that are trying to push the fence down.  We'll just have to wait and find out.

Season 4 - Analyzing the Comic-Con Trailer + Predictions (PART 1)

If you haven't seen the trailer for season four of The Walking Dead, I highly recommend watching it before reading any further!

"We just lost 12 of our own. Two were killed in cold blood."

They even tell us in the trailer how many people are going to die in season four, but there will probably be even more deaths then that.

AMC finally released an extended trailer for the upcoming season and we can make a lot of predictions just from watching this 4.5 minute video.  I've already watched it 18 times, so I have a lot of predictions and thoughts about season four.

Let's start with the raid on the "Big Spot" department store.  It looks like the prison group have gotten used to scavenging for food.  They even have their own formations and armor for protection. 

Analysis: One thing that bothered me was seeing Sasha give orders to others.  She's only alive because of Tyreese and I just can't imagine Daryl or Michonne taking orders from someone like that.  So I already don't like Sasha.  We also see the first appearance of new character Bob Stookey, and we see a lot of him throughout the trailer.  There's also some yelling and gunfire in the Big Spot, so maybe this new character won't be around for very long.

Next, we see the prison, which has transformed into a farm with crops and even animals.  I saw some pigs, which are probably used for meat.  The group also made a new gate and it looks like Rick took a page out of Morgan's book with the sharp wooden beams surrounding the entrance.  Later in the trailer, we also see some sharp weapons hanging on the fence, ready for action at any time.

Analysis: What's not to love about seeing Michonne on a horse?  I'm actually really impressed about the prison and how it looks in the trailer.  Looks like they're using the same tactics as last season when it comes to killing walkers on the outside.  But as we find out from Carol, the zombies are starting to come in bigger groups.  She says to Daryl, "It's manageable, but unless we get ahead of it, not for long."

The violence came very early on in comic book series, and it looks like a version of this violence will be coming to the television show.  Walkers are seen attacking cell block D, which looks like the home of many new people in the prison.  Rick says after the attack, "Somebody attacked the cell block." Tyreese notes at another point, "We've got to find who did this." Rick responds, "We're not going anywhere, we'll find them." Hershel: "We just lost 12 of our own. Two of them were killed in cold blood."

Analysis: Who could possibly be behind this? It could be the Governor because he's familiar with the prison and will be a season regular.  But based on quotes from other characters, specifically Hershel, I have a feeling that this attack came from within the prison.  Could it be one of the people from Woodbury, or could it be someone from the main cast?  Don't be surprised if it ends up being Carl who does this.  Think about it.  Carl was pissed about having all the new people move in because they won't be able to defend themselves.  Thus, he lures the walkers into the prison and eliminates the people in cell block D.

"You got to calm down."  A big part in the comic book series was the fight between Rick and Tyreese, and it looks like we got a little preview of that in the trailer. It looks like Tyreese had Daryl pinned against a wall and then started a fight with Rick.  But why did Tyreese start the fight?

Analysis: Tyreese won in the comic book series, but towards the end of the trailer, we see that his eye is swollen.  This leads me to believe that Rick will win the fight in the television series.  To answer the question of why he started the fight, we did see him looking down at something about halfway through the trailer.  He looked to be getting emotional, which makes me think that someone very close to him died, most likely Sasha, his sister. 

PART 2 IS ON THE WAY...

Season 4 - New Location: Plant Yates + pics

So there have been rumors about a new set location for season four, which is reportedly called Power Plant Yates in Georgia. There are more pictures of this power plant other then the three I'm going to show, so you can surf the web and find those if you want.  There isn't anything up close though and I think it's because security has been really tight on the filming.  Apparently, the production is supposed to be really big with a lot of people involved in the production of whatever episode their filming.  I think we'll see the power plant between episodes three and six based on timing, but I could be wrong because they don't always shoot everything in chronological order.  So here's the pictures of Power Plant Yates:

This is a really cool location! I think one of the fun things about The Walking Dead is getting to see all of the new locations like in "Clear", where we see Rick's hometown, Atlanta with all of the rooftops and buildings and even the prison.  But just by looking at this location, this the perfect location for a zombie apocalypse.  The set team doesn't have to that much work, and all you would have to do is put some garbage and debris around the location and you're ready to shoot.  You have the fence for security and you can see the rust on those things on top of the roof.  So overall, this makes for a really nice set location.

I do wonder what they're going to use this location for and who's going to be there.  We've already seen Rick's group at the Big Spot and the prison for season four, so will this be the Governor's new spot?  It could be because I originally thought the Governor's new place would be at the Big Spot location, but we know that's not the case.  It's a tough call, but don't rule out the possibility of seeing the Governor here. He is a season regular as well, so we should be seeing him in almost every episode. 

 

So this photo is of the same location but it's from just up the road.  This reminds me a lot of the season two poster where you had Rick running up the road to the farm.  If this is really where they're shooting, this would be absolutely perfect. Just an awesome choice for a location!

 

 



Here's another picture of the plant and this one is zoomed out and you can see the body of water as well.  There isn't really too much that I can say other then wonder why they would be shooting there.  You wouldn't think there would be any food in a power plant.  According to International Business Times, there were about 120 production personnel and 200 extras on hands.  Could that mean 200 walkers?  That could spell trouble for anyone that steps foot in there.

So if this location is the Governor's new home base, this a really cool location for a base.  But it doesn't really make sense for anyone to be there beside the fact that Plant Yates is secured.  I don't think it would be that rich in terms of supplies or food.  But that's really all we can say at this point.  Write in the comment section below about what you think Plant Yates is being used for and who you think will be traveling there.

TV Series - Top 5 Greatest Moments

Out of all of my "Top 5" posts, this was by far the most difficult list to make because there have been so many memorable moments in first three seasons, and I'm sure there will be many more to come in the future.  In terms of the word "moment" in The Walking Dead, it could evoke emotion, sadness, excitement or happiness.  These moments keep you watching the series. So let's get started!

Honorable Mention: Merle going out a hero, S3 E15

This is the one where Merle goes into the car, the walkers are behind him, he's drinking and he goes in and is shooting guys left and right.  He almost killed the Governor and then he pulled a season one quote in his final moments, "I ain't gonna beg."  That whole sequence was one of the most exciting moments of season three.

#5 - The Governor shoots his entire army, S3E16 "Welcome to the Tombs"

This moment represents the complete transformation where the Governor will not allow anyone to get in the ways of his goals.  His value of human life has basically decreased to nothing, and because they refused to listen to him and go back to the prison, he saw them as useless and just annihilated everyone in sight.  That was a great scene with tremendous acting by David Morrissey.

#4 - Daryl finds zombie Merle, S3E15 "This Sorrowful Life"

I don't count this moment with "Merle going out hero" simply because this happened later in the episode.  But Norman Reedus did a fantastic job in making that scene very touching for all of the viewers.  I love when he just keeps pushing him back and then he finally has the guts to do it and kills him because he's able to just let go.  Even though this was one of the saddest moments in the Walking Dead, it has to be one of the greatest as well.

#3 - Rick stabs Shane, S2E12 "Better Angels"

That was a crazy scene, especially looking back on it now.  The acting by Andrew Lincoln and Jon Bernthal was phenomenal and the environment and the moment was absolutely perfect.  What else can you say?  I had mixed emotions after watching this moment because I was sad that Shane was dead, but at the same time, I felt like that was a crazy moment.  Shane was such a major character in season two as well and that added to the shock of seeing him die. 

#2 - Rick's reaction to Lori's death, S3E4 "Killer Within"

This was probably the saddest scene in the history of The Walking Dead television series, which is what makes this moment so great.  When baby Judith comes out and Carl and Maggie exchange looks with Rick, he just knew it.  The acting by Andrew Lincoln in this scene was by far the best acting he's ever done in The Walking Dead.  It almost like you can feel all the emotion and the sadness going through Rick after finding out that his wife had passed away.  That was one of the most powerful moments in The Walking Dead television series.

#1 - Sophia coming out of the barn, S2E7 "Pretty Much Dead Already"

This is the greatest moment in The Walking Dead TV series not just because they were looking for Sophia for the entire season, but because not one single fan of The Walking Dead expected her to be in that barn.  It was an absolutely brilliant scene and Rick was ultimately the one to put her down.  There's really nothing more that needs to be said.

Season 4: Big Spot update + more pics

A couple weeks ago, I did a post about some predictions based on the Big Lots location pictures.  I'm going to update that in this post as well as show some new pictures and make some new predictions.  

 

 

So this photo was taken by Rodney Moore of AMC.com and it's basically a picture of the Big Spot location from a different angle.  If you look closely, you can see the crew filming on top of the store and you have the fence with military tents and vehicles inside.  Now I just assumed this would be the Governor's new location for Season 4.  As you will see in the next picture, I was wrong to assume that.

If you zoom in on the top of the roof, we can clearly see Rick standing there on the right side of this picture (on top of the ''RE" in MOORE).  I would think that Rick's group would be there to get supplies for all the new people they've taken in from Woodbury.  As far as I know there will be a winter time skip, which means that Rick's group will be running low on food, even if they found a lot of food stockpiled at Woodbury.  So I think Rick's group is at that location for food and supplies.

 

Here we have Steven Yeun, or Glenn, on location as you can see the building in the background.  His appearance his reminiscent to his comic book counterpart who also used to wear the prison riot gear.  His hair is longer then last season, and I love that the actors and actresses are starting to look like their characters in the comic book.  It also feels like their actually in a zombie apocalypse by not cutting their hair or shaving.   

 

  

If you're still not convinced it will be Rick's group that goes to the Big Spot location, here's another picture with Daryl's motorcycle in front of the fence.  I think we can pretty much guarantee that the Governor will not be going to this location and it will be Rick instead.

 

There are more pictures out there but I felt these were the ones that solidified that Rick's group will go to the Big Spot location, probably trying to get food for his group at the prison.  If you didn't know already, filming for the first episode was completed a while ago and these pictures were taken from the shooting of the premiere.  So we should see the Big Spot location in the season four premiere.

 

Hopefully, we'll get to see a promo/trailer from Comic Con and get some ideas to where the Governor has gone.  It's a big mystery at this point to fans of The Walking Dead.  My guess now is that he went back to place where he fought Merle and met with Rick.  But we won't know exactly until the season son four, which is still over three months away.





TV Series - Top 5 Favorite Characters

With season four slowly approaching (which feels like an eternity), I've decided to count down my top five favorite/greatest characters from The Walking Dead television series.  I'll probably do my top five characters from the comic book series later.  For those of you that do read the comics, there are a lot of characters in the comics, so I'll have an even tougher time picking my favorites from the comic book series.  Without further ado,  here are my top five favorite characters from the television series:

Honorable Mention: Morgan Jones

I know he's only been in two episodes, but I think his performance in "Clear" is the only reason I have him as an honorable mention.  I think that was one of the best episodes of season three mainly because we get to see what has happened with him since the first episode of The Walking Dead.  A lot of fans were hoping that he would return in the season three finale, but that didn't happen unfortunately.  He may not be on that much, but when he is, the episode is always fantastic.

#5 - Glenn Rhee

The last remaining survivor from the Atlanta camp, Glenn has been one of my favorite characters over the past three seasons.  He saved Rick from Atlanta and was the group's main supply runner.  He began a relationship with Maggie in season two and I guess you can say they are married since Glenn gave her that ring in "This Sorrowful Life."  Not only does Glenn show compassion and humanity, but he is one tough guy.  When he and Maggie were captured and interrogated by the Governor, he survived a beating from Merle and a walker attack while tied to a chair.  That brought out his resourcefulness and quick-thinking, which is why Glenn is one of my favorite characters.

#4 - Philip Blake a.k.a. "The Governor"

As much as I absolutely hate the Governor, you have to admit that he is a great villain.  If you don't have the Joker, you don't really have Batman.  What I mean by that is that you can have Batman, but you don't really have Batman unless you have someone like the Joker.  If you're watching a Batman movie without the Joker, something is definitely missing.  The Governor is that "Joker" and main villain.  Sure, you have all the zombies, but again, you're missing that main villain that always stirs up trouble.  I think the Governor has been handled really well and he definitely has to be on my list.

#3 - Merle Dixon

I think Merle was absolutely fantastic and one of my favorite characters in season three.  He was responsible for some of the best moments of the entire season like taking out eight of the Governor's men in "This Sorrowful Life."  It's too bad that he died because he really is an interesting character.  He does what needs to be done, has no class whatsoever and teeters on the brink of a hero and a villain.  I think he definitely went out as a hero in "This Sorrowful Life" when he took out all of those men and drew all of those zombies to where the Governor was.

#2 Rick Grimes

Andrew Lincoln is a phenomenal actor and there is no else better suited to playing Rick then him.  I liked all of the struggle in season three over Lori's death and how he got over Lori in the second half of season three.  Personally, I think Rick is more of a badass in the television series then in the comic book series, using grenades very well and being a great shot.  One of the best scenes of season two was when Rick killed Dave and Tony in that bar, and another memorable scene was seeing Rick kill all those zombies in the prison following Lori's death.  He's the main character of the series, and rightfully so because he is absolutely fantastic.

#1 Daryl Dixon

Rick may be the main character, but I think people watch The Walking Dead solely to see Daryl Dixon in action with his signature crossbow.  I never want to see Daryl killed off because he is such a fan favorite, a great survivor and an interesting character in general.  Norman Reedus did an outstanding job in season three, especially when he has to kill Merle after seeing him as a zombie.  I loved when he just took the crossbow from Shumpert after Rick and Maggie came back to save him and Merle.  In addition, Daryl probably had the best zombie kill in the history of the television series.  Remember this?

Probably the best zombie kill I've ever seen in my life.  I also love when Daryl stands up to Merle about Glenn he tells him, "He's Korean."  That was one of my favorite lines of the entire season by far.

So just to recap, my favorite characters from The Walking Dead television series, in order, are Glenn, the Governor, Merle, Rick and Daryl.  Let me know what you guys think and answer the poll above and tell me who your favorite character is.  If you answer "Someone else", let me know who your favorite character is in the comments below.

Season 4 - Lawrence Gilliard Jr. playing Bob Stookey

I do apologize for not posting about this topic earlier.  I did address it very briefly in my post regarding the start of season four production, but that was about it. 

A couple weeks ago, I did a post about a new character named Roy Stark, a former army medic and loner in his early 30s to mid 40s who is charming, self-deprecating and confident around people.  As I predicted in that very same post, it was a fake name.  So Lawrence Gilliard Jr. is actually playing the role of Bob Stookey, a character from the comic books.

Bob Stookey, who debuted in Issue 43 of the comic book series, was the town drunk of Woodbury and a former army medic.  He came in close to the end of the whole Governor storyline on the comic book series.  His age is from late 50s to early 60s and he is Caucasian, whereas Gilliard Jr. is African American.  This isn't the first time where they've had characters in the television series look nothing like their comic book counter parts.  They did it with the Governor, and I think that has worked out great and David Morrissey has done a fantastic job.

This also got me thinking that because this character is being introduced now, we're starting to see the end of the Governor storyline in The Walking Dead.  That wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing because he got a lot of time in season three and season four is going to be sixteen episodes again.  I hope the Governor dies in season four, but if he doesn't, he needs to fall out of the main plot because his storyline would become too long.

I could definitely see him being part of the prison group right away.  He could have been on that bus that was taken to the prison because he is a drunk and he's basically useless, so the Governor probably didn't take him along for the fight.  Another possibility could be that he lives at that Big Spot retail store (if you don't know what I'm talking about, click here) because in the pictures, there are military tents on the outside.  Obviously, with Governor needing more men and with all the military encampment, it would make sense that he and another group of survivors would be living there.

Just as a side note, maybe Bob Stookey could help the Governor cauterize his wound because he    couldn't do it on his own last season.  I don't think the Governor will lose any more limbs or body parts, so if they follow the storyline from the comic books, it would make sense for this new character to patch up the Governor.  Just in case some of you don't read the comic books, in Issue 33, Michonne mutilated the Governor after he tortured her, cutting off his right arm and messing up his eye.  Soon after the attack, Bob Stookey then patches him up.

We don't know too much about the new character past that point in the comic book series.  We know for the most part that he survived at least up until the prison storyline ends in the comic book series, so there's a small possibility that he could still be alive in the comic books.

It should be fun to Lawrence Gilliard Jr.'s take on the character.  Obviously. he has to add a lot of new elements to him because there isn't really much to work with other then he's the town drunk and he's a former army medic.  I think that he is going to be a part of a military group of survivors that the Governor meets up with at that Big Spot retail store, but I could be totally wrong.

Season 4 - The Governor's new secret headquarters?



So we've got another picture concerning season four of the Walking Dead and it looks like the Governor has found a new base of operations: a Big Spot retail store.

I think the name of the store is originally Big Lots, but they obviously can't use the name of a retail store without permission from the actual chain.  The name does the job for me and it also looks like there is a military camp outside of the store from what it looks like, but let's take a look at the pictures:

So the first picture we have is the store Big Spot, based off of Big Lots so they don't get sued.  I'm actually really excited because I said in one of my previous posts (I forget which one) that a great location would be a grocery store or department store of some kind.  It's big, there's tons of supplies and it's pretty secure aside from the glass windows.  You could definitely set that place up to be like paradise in a zombie apocalypse. 

Now, I'm assuming that the Governor is going to find his way here, but there is the chance that it could be a totally different group that is living here.  An idea I had would be for a different group to be staying here, have the Governor, Martinez and Shumpert come to live with them, and have the three of them take it over.  But that's just an idea and we don't know for sure if this is indeed the Governor's new spot.

I'm of the mindset that it is because he has to go somewhere and it would make perfect sense.  Who knows, maybe he knows about it when he set up Woodbury.  Maybe they could meet up with a military-type group because there is military stuff outside like tents and debris.  I think this new set is going to be better then Woodbury because aside from the wall and the torture room, the rest of the community was just bland.  It'll be interesting to see how they film in this department store and what kinds of new things they'll be able to do in terms of the set design.  Plus, you also have all the military tents and equipment outside, which makes the place that much cooler to stay during a zombie apocalypse.

Season 4 - Production Begins and First Look at Rick

Season four production for The Walking Dead  began on Monday and AMC has already released the first picture of season four.  I really like that as they're filming, they are releasing a bunch of stuff just like last season.  I didn't even expect a picture to be released this early, but nonetheless, here is the picture:

So it's basically a picture of Rick standing in the forest and probably outside of the prison.  You also have a walker in the background and Rick either doesn't care or doesn't see it coming.  Other then that, there's not really much you can speculate.  It's the first picture, it's obviously very cool and it gets me even more excited for season four.

Now that AMC has released one picture, I assume there will be more coming in the near future.  Last year for season three, there was a lot of stuff that came out in that June-July-August range, so I'll be doing more posts once more information is released.

We've also heard about a new character being played by Lawrence Gilliard Jr. playing Bob Stookey, who was the town drunk of Woodbury in the comic book series.  I'm interested in seeing what they'll do with him in the television series because you could have him live with Rick's group and them have him betray Rick and work with the Governor.  What would make the most sense is to have the Governor run into him on the road, but we'll see what happens.

Season 4 - Plot Predictions

Now that Rick and the prison group have added on all these extra survivors from the Woodbury community, their group has become really big. 

A sense of community is going to be key, but a big problem they are going to run into is the amount of resources to feed, house and dress all of those people.  During a zombie apocalypse, a lot of those elderly people can't really carry their own weight.  Sure, they may be helpful in doing jobs inside the prison.  But do you really expect them to go on supply runs or go out and kill zombies outside the prison?  It's going to be interesting to see where a lot of those people have a place in the group.

It's safe to say Rick is still the leader of the group, but it's supposed to be a democracy.  I think we'll see that storyline come back in season four with Rick and Tyreese possibly budding heads because Rick is the leader of his own group and Tyreese feels responsible for the people of Woodbury due to the Governor leaving and what he did.  I would love to see a fist fight between Rick and Tyreese like in the comic books.

This whole prison situation is basically a new Alexandria Safe-Zone from the comic books.  Instead of Rick leading his own group and joining and eventually taking over the whole place, Rick in the television series has a similar size group.  I think we could possibly see some storylines from the most recent comic books being used in season four because Rick has a whole community to look after.

There are more surviving groups out there and I think we'll start to see a lot more survivors from outside the prison.  The zombies will definitely be a threat, but at the same time, we'll probably start seeing a lot more groups that we don't know anything about.  I think the Governor will join up with a group and have another group, possibly Abraham and his group from the comic books, debut in the television series and join the fray.

Since a lot more characters are in the show now, there is going to be so much more happening at once in the same season.  I think you could do the "Thomas" storyline from the comic book series and have someone from Woodbury start killing people within the prison and have Rick and Tyreese try and find out who it is.

We know for sure that the Governor is not finished with Rick's group, so he'll be back with Martinez and Shumpert.  The Governor is going to be adding people to his group to become a threat once again to Rick's group and he'll probably attack the prison multiple times in season four.  I do not have the Governor making it out of season four because there are 16 episodes, so most of the later episodes could be used to build up the Governor's death.  I think he'll pick off a few people from Rick's group like Hershel, Beth or maybe Carol. 

Also, I don't think the Governor is going to be the only villain in season four because we've already had a full season with the Governor as the main antagonist.  Obviously, it will be fun to see him come back, but again, 16 episodes is a lot and I don't think the Governor storyline we'll be able to stretch out for the entire season by himself.  It would be smart to add another main villain or another group that Rick's group doesn't get along with.

The beginning of season four will basically be Rick's group going out on supply runs because due to the time skip, they're going to be out of food by the start of spring, so they're going to have to find stuff quickly because you have all of those people to feed and finding supplies quickly is going to become more important over time.

As you saw in the season finale, Carl is starting to disagree more and more with Rick, blaming him for him mom's death and for other characters as well.  I think Carl is going to become much colder and he'll get stuff done if it needs to be done.  His character is going to be interesting to watch.  I think you also need to have characters like Michonne and Daryl to go out and get food and supplies and things of that nature.  Plus, they have the best weapons ever with the sword and the crossbow.

So just to recap possible storylines for season four: Rick and Tyreese budding heads, possible Alexandria storylines, the Governor joining up with another group, Thomas storyline from comic books, the addition of another villain or villainous group, Carl and Rick beginning to grow apart

So it's going to be fun to see how season four plays out and I think it will be way better then season three, and just the thought of that makes me excited for this fall.  Plus, it is a little more then a week away before season four filming begins in Atlanta.  I can't wait, I know you guys can't either!

Season 4 - Where will the Governor go?

One of the biggest questions asked after the season three finale was, "Where did the Governor, Martinez and Shumpert go?" 

I think the three of them could possibly go to the place where they killed Merle, which I think makes a lot of sense.  There is a fair amount of protection from walkers with all the sturdy buildings.  The Governor could go there and kill whatever walkers are around and the three of them could regroup and set up a new base camp there.

There's also the option of them going to some random location.  I would like to see them go to a supermarket or a high school in the television series because we haven't really seen that in the comic books aside from Ezekiel and the Kingdom.

There is also going to be a time skip, which means that season four will continue during spring and skip entirely over winter.  I think the Governor will have found some sort of base of operations by then like in that building where he met with Rick. 

I think that would make sense for the start, but they will obviously have to scavenge for food and probably gear up for another battle with Rick's group.  The Governor is also going to need more men, so maybe he could join up with another group and treat them much differently then he treated previous groups.  You would have to think the Governor is still mourning after what he did from last season, but I don't think we would see that due to the time skip in between.

In terms of Martinez and Shumpert, I think Martinez will get a bigger role.  You can't really decrease Shumpert's role in season four because he really didn't say much.  Obviously, their roles will increase in season four.  The Governor is a series regular, so he's going to have a lot of screen time, so it would only make sense that Martinez and Shumpert would get a lot of screen time as well.  I don't think the three of them will survive past this season, so it will be very interesting to see where they go with those characters and what they do to survive.

Season 4 - Rumored New Character - Who is Roy Stark?

There has been a rumor flying around the Internet about a new character that will debut in Season 4 of The Walking Dead. 

Tvline.com is reporting that The Walking Dead team has sent out a casting call for a new series regular role of a character called Roy Stark, who is a former army medic who had serious issues even before the zombie apocalypse.  Apparently, he's a loner in his early 30s to mid 40s is still charming, self-deprecating and confident around people.

If I remember correctly, the same thing was done last season where they had a character named Manuel, whose name was eventually changed to Tomas by the time season three came around.  Just because they're casting this name right now doesn't necessarily mean its going to stay that way.  It could be a false name for some other character like Abraham from the comic book series, which would make a lot of sense for him to be introduced into the television series. 

I don't believe Abraham was a former army medic, but I think he was an infantry-soldier-type of guy.  It does interest me that they are a calling for a series regular this early, which probably makes me think that he is going to run into the Governor at some point. 

I think Rick has enough people on his side and the Governor has to start recruiting some people to his side if he wants to stay relevant.  I would hate to see David Morrissey come back and play the antagonist of the series if he has no men.  If the Governor only has three people, what are they going to do?  He's not going to be able to launch a full out assault on the prison like he did before.  He could commit scare tactics like sniping people from a distance when they least expect it or try to assassinate some people. 

Again, I'm leaning toward the possibility of this new character, with a group of his own, running into the Governor and the former Woodbury leader will try to convince him to help him attack the prison with possibly some other soldiers or other military-type guys to increase the man-power of the Governor's group.  I'm also interested in whether the Governor knows anyone else outside of Woodbury or if he knows any other locations in the world where he can set up a base.  

The Governor can't behave the way he did before when he had Woodbury because he is not going to want to take someone in, find out where they are and go steal their stuff.  He is going to want to be really nice to them and join up with them so he can get more people on his side.  That's what I think they are going to do with this new character, but they could change the name like they did before season three.  I always love getting military-type people involved in The Walking Dead.

Just as a little side note, I still want to see a tank in the television series.  Maybe Roy Stark and his group will have a tank, which would be awesome.  Could you imagine a tank assaulting the prison?  That would be really tough to deal with, even if the Governor is out-numbered.  If they had a tank, that would be really hard to mess with. 

Season 4 Death Predictions

It's never too early to predict deaths for season four of The Walking Dead, even if it is six months away. 

One of the most fun things about The Walking Dead is predicting who is going to die next.  I'm going to give my thoughts on who is going to survive this season and who is going to die. 

Right off the bat, I think its almost a lock that the Governor will die next season.  It's getting to the point where some viewers are getting tired of seeing him on the show and just want him dead.  After what he did in the season three finale, I definitely want to see him die as well.  I think Daryl, Rick or Karen, the one who hid behind the dead body, are all candidates for who kills the Governor. 

I thought we would see the Governor's death in the season three finale, but I think keeping him alive isn't so bad either.  I think we'll get to see more villains in season four and maybe introduce some new characters because the season is 16 episodes, so they have a lot of room for character development.  I also think we'll see multiple storylines with Rick's group along with the storyline of the Governor, Martinez and Shumpert.  I think all three of them will die, along with whoever else the Governor adds to his group. 

Now, onto Rick's group.  I think Rick and Carl obviously has to live at this point, and I will be doing a future post on Carl's character for next season and whether he'll kill any more innocent people like he did in the finale.  You could injure Carl like he is in the comic books, but I don't think he needs to die.

I'm surprised Carol is still alive at this point and I think she has to die at some point in season four.  Beth, on the other hand, might be filling the role of Sophia in the comic books because Sophia is still alive in the comic book series.  She could be a potential character for Carl to have as a friend, so I could understand if she is still alive by the end of this season.  Although, I'm of the mindset that she will die this upcoming season as well.

If Daryl dies, we riot. End of story.

Karen, a new character from Woodbury, could die, but it would be nice if she killed the Governor after what she saw him do to all those people in the finale.  Tyreese could be killed, but he just joined up with Rick's group, so I think he'll survive at least for this season and die possibly in season five because we haven't really gotten to know him yet.

I think Hershel is filling in the role of  Dale in the comic book series, so I think he could die, but I think he'll stick around until season five or six.  I think Glenn and Maggie are safe, although I think the lovey-dovey scenes between them are starting to get annoying for me anyway.  I guess you kind of have to have those scenes to offset all the action and the drama, but its getting annoying and I wouldn't rule out the possibility of either one of them dying this season.

I don't know if Morgan is going to return to the group this season.  I could see him not returning at all or possibly seeing the Governor run into him, which would be very interesting.  But I don't think we'll see Morgan return this season, although it would be great of they did it.  I think Michonne has to live, no question about it.  I think Sasha, who is Tyreese's sister, is guaranteed to die at some point in season four.  All the people that came from Woodbury are basically goners when next season comes around. 

So my list of people dying in season four goes like this: the Governor, Martinez, Shumpert, Carol, Beth, Sasha and the rest of elderly and children that came from Woodbury are goners.  I don't think they should kill too many characters because then there wouldn't be enough people for character development and all that stuff.  I think we could be introduced to Abraham, another comic book series character, later in season four.

I'll probably be coming out with a thorough review of season three probably later today or tomorrow, and same goes for my post on Carl's character development for next season.  Don't go away zombiephiles.

Season 4 - David Morrissey to return as the Governor

I could not be any more happier to hear that one of my favorite villains of all-time will be coming back as a regular for season four.  Let me just say that David Morrissey is phenomenal actor and the perfect person to play this heinous villain known as the Governor.

So this is our first big piece of information that we know about season four.  I don't think we'll get to see the Governor as much as we did this past season because there was two episodes completely dedicated to the Governor, Andrea and Woodbury.  I'd say the other episodes were about 60 percent Rick's side and 40 percent Woodbury. 

Also, the Governor's group is only down to three people: himself, Martinez and my man Shumpert.  You have to think the Martinez and Bowman can't be too trusting of the Governor after the massacre of the Woodbury army.

The TV series is taking a completely different approach then in the comic books because at this point, the Governor is already dead and Rick's group had left the prison entirely.  It's hard to really make predictions about what is going to occur next season, as they have broken away from the main storyline of the comic books. 

One thing I will predict though is that I do expect another confrontation between Rick's group and the Governor.  I think the Governor has to die at some point in season four because that would make the most sense. 

I know a lot of people are disappointed that he didn't die in the season three finale, but I'm not really that disappointed.  I think it's really interesting that the TV series is going in a different direction then the comics, although it would have been great to see Daryl, my favorite character, kill him.  I think if the Governor was killed off in the finale, you really wouldn't have that villainous character that would terrorize Rick's group.  It's going to be interesting to see where the Governor goes from here after retreating from the prison. 

As far as future posts go, I don't think we'll get to see any pictures or promos until June or July because they're going to start shooting in May.  I don't think we'll see anything visual or any pictures until around Comic-Con in July.

So again, great news that David Morrissey is set to return as the Governor next season and that he won't disappear for an entire season like Merle did.  He will indeed come back as a regular, and I think we'll probably see him in the season four premiere because if you're going to pay him to come back, fans are going to want to see what's going on with him every episode.

S3E16 "Welcome to the Tombs" Predictions

Oh, how a week goes so fast in anticipation for the The Walking Dead Season 3 Finale.  As D-Generation X used to say, "Are you ready?!?!?"

I am, and so are millions of other Walking Dead fans around the world, so here are my predictions for the Season 3 finale, Welcome to the Tombs.

By the way, just because Season 3 is ending doesn't mean that I'm shutting down The Walking Shin Report.  I'll be posting about any information, casting and much more on Season 4, and I'll be posting my reviews on the comic series as well.

Alright, so the conclusion of Season 3 is upon us.  Season 3 has been great so far, and I'd say it's been better than Season 2.  Last episode, titled "This Sorrowful Life" was one of the best episodes of the entire season.  After the scenes of last episode, everyone knows that there is not going to be peace between Rick and The Governor.

The Governor took what happened to his group as an attack against him and Woodbury from Rick and the group, even though not all of them were there.  Obviously, The Governor has revenge on his mind.  I think The Governor believes that if he kills Ricks' group, then Andrea, who is still trapped in that dentist chair, will have no choice but to stay with The Governor.  Obviously, The Governor wants Michonne as well for her killing his daughter and wanted Merle for not capturing Michonne and "betraying" Woodbury.  In addition, The Governor really doesn't like Rick either because he's the leader of another group, and The Governor wants to be the head honcho, so to speak.

So let's start with the promo.  We finally see Andrea for the first time since she was captured by The Governor, and she has a big gash on on her head.  That just goes to show how brutal The Governor has gotten over the course of Season 3.  The next part is The Governor punches somebody, and I think its probably Milton, as he and The Governor's relationship as turned a bit sour in recent episodes. 

So the next part shows Michonne pissed off at Rick and doesn't really trust him.  I think she is a part of the group but she's still mad at the fact that Rick considered handing her over to The Governor.  Knowing Rick's character, I wouldn't think he'd even consider handing her over, at least my view on that.  It looks like Carl and Beth are packing up the cars as well, which makes me believe that they are indeed leaving the prison.  Martinez then shoots one of the towers down at the prison to end the promo. 

In the first sneak peek, we have Carl is packing and looking at family pictures.  There isn't much to say other then that the prison group is packing, leaving or doing something as it looks.  I think they're leaving completely, but there could be a possibility that they go back to the farm. 

The second sneak peek is where the action really begins.  You have the Governor's group, which includes 20-30 people, attacking the prison and all armed to the teeth.  The you have Allen opening up the doors to the tombs and the sneak peek ends there.  I'm thinking there's something behind that door, but I'm not positive on what it could be.  I'm thinking it's a ton of walkers, but there's a good chance I could be wrong. 

So as far as deaths go, I think it's safe to say that a good majority of The Governor's army will die tonight.  As far as relevant characters, I think Milton, Martinez, Allen and, of course, The Governor will bite the dust on Team Woodbury.  I think Hershel, Beth and Judith will die on Team Prison, and if I'm right, I'd like to apologize to Maggie and how she will feel if they do indeed die.  This leaves Rick, Carl, Daryl, Carol, Glenn, Maggie, Michonne, Andrea, Tyreese and Sasha surviving tonight's season finale.  Also, I'm of the mindset that Morgan Jones will return tonight in some capacity.  Whether Rick goes to where Morgan is or Morgan goes to the prison, although I doubt he know where it is located, I believe Morgan will return tonight somehow.

I can't wait to see the epic conclusion of Season 3.  Get your popcorn ready, because it's going to be one hell of an episode.  I'll have my review out tomorrow and I'll probably end up doing a review on the entire season and give you my thoughts on it.  Enjoy the episode, everyone!
